You are my Sunshine {Kid's Apron}

Morning!  I hope you all are doing wonderfully today!  Guess what??  I have something other than a blanket for you today!  HA!

Since making my first apron, here, I have been wanting to make more.  This time I decided to make one for my little girl...but....unfortunately....it was too big!

 Thankfully, we have some friends that have a little girl as well, and it her perfectly!  Here it is on my adorably cute model, Bayle.  She wasn't a fan of the yellow and black...she's more of a girly girl and likes pink...like ME!  ;)  So, I'm going to make her another one in a different color.

The good news is that it is now up in the shop!  It will fit a child age 5-7.

Want to know how to make one?  I may have a tutorial coming up in a few days. ;)

Friday {Faves}

I forget about this day a lot lately.  This is the day I wanted to show off what I loved by blog hopping.  I LOVE Pinterest {don't we all?}.  BUT, I also like to connect with the bloggers and show my love the "old way".  So, here are a few things I love!
Scrappy Pillow from Pink Stitches.  Totally making one TODAY for the living room re-do!

Love The Amy Bag from The Happy Scraps!

LOVE this shirt from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom!

This Dinosaur Pillow is so cute for a little man, from Being Brook.  Makes me wish my boys were into dinosaurs.

Those are just a few of the cuties that I have found this week!  Do you still blog hop and let others know you are visiting and love what they are doing?  Or do you only pin what you love?

Have a great weekend, Y'all!

Pinterest Make Me {GoGo Dress}

I love Pinterest, as I believe every other person on the face of earth does.  I don't like to just pin, I like to create what I pin.  So today I want to show you the latest cutie from my pinning addiction.  ;)

I pinned this Peasant Dress, it is from Little Bean and even has a tutorial on how to make it.  The only thing I really changed is the length.

I love dresses on little girls that are just a tad short, with a pair of boots. I just so happened to have ran upon a good deal for scrap fabric at Hobby Lobby last week. SCORE! So I decided to use it.
Ready for a fashion show?

The sleeves are 3/4 sleeves, and have elastic in them to make them fitted at the bottom.

The top is elastic as well.  And I added a ruffle at the bottom for extra cuteness.

Of course she didn't want to participate in my picture's.  Honestly, we had to bribe her to even wear the dress that day.  LOL  Don't you hate it when that happens??  Sigh.....Hopefully she will learn to love it as much as I do.

Tasty Tuesday {Paleo Shepherd's Pie}

So the family has now been eating Paleo style for a month now.  I can't say I love it...but I don't hate it either.  Actually, 99% of the food that I have made has been delicious!  AND, it takes less time to make since it's all fresh.

Well a few weeks ago I made Paleo Shepherd's Pie.  We LOVE Shepherd's Pie in this house.  So when I found out we can't have potatoes...I may or may not have freaked out a little.  Ok, ok, who are we kidding...I freaked out.  I LOVE potatoes...and that is probably the hardest thing for me on Paleo.  Anyhow, here it is.

What I did:
First, gather all of your veggies you want to use.  I used carrots, green beans, zucchini, squash, and one can of organic diced tomatoes.  Fry all of your hamburger meat, and drain.  Add all veggies in a pot with 1 tablespoon of coconut amino's and cook.  I cooked mine for about 30 minutes. Add your veggies with the hamburger meat in your pan, and sprinkle some cilantro on top.

While your veggies are cooking, cut up your head of cauliflower and add it to a pan of boiling water.  After it has cooked to soft, remove it and "mash".
 Third, add your mashed cauliflower onto the meat and veggie mix.  And bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
 If your family likes it as much as mine....this is what you will have at the end of the night!
I would call that a success, wouldn't you?

Do you eat Paleo?  If so, where do you get your recipe's from?  I would love to know!
I like to party here.

Flower Power {Blanket}

Are you completely sick of blankets yet?  I mean, it is 80 degrees outside this very moment in Tennessee yet I can't help but make more blankets.  I seriously may have an addiction. HA!  But I promise...just a few more this week and I will be done.  Till it gets cold again anyway. ;)

 I'm not exactly sure what I will do with this one just yet, but it's the perfect size for a baby blanket/floor mat!
Of course I love it.  Now, I just have to figure out what to do with it!

I like to party over here!  Have a great day.

A Pinky Blanket

Yes.  Another Blanket.  What can I say...I may be a little addicted to blankets. ;)

My daughter found some soft pink material while at Hobby Lobby with me a few weeks ago.  So after may screams and tears (not really tears....I don't think. HA) I decided to acctually make her a blanket as well.

I'm so glad I finally made her one.  She sleeps with it now, and takes it everywhere.  So sweet.

I like to party over here.

I love it!  I added a fabric rosette onto the middle of the top of it, to give it a little extra cuteness.  Not that it needs it or anything. ;)

And guess what? You have a chance to WIN IT!! I am giving this away over on One Artsy Mama for her two year bloggy celebration she has going on this week!

So, head on over to One Artsy Mama and enter!

Coral Tables

Hey!  I I have another piece to show you of the living room!  I am SO EXCITED  about this one.  :)  Two days after I asked for help with my living room, I was lucky enough to find some fabulous end tables at our local Salvation Army!  Talk about perfect timing, huh?  I had been looking for some like these for months...posibbly years.  So, when I found them I snatched 'em up.

Here they were when I brought them home.

Aren't they fabulous?  I love the doors, the feet, the handles.  Everything!  Of course I couldn't leave them wood.  So, I painted them!  Here they are now.

The paint color matched my lamp shade perfectly...even though I didn't mean to do that. HA!  I hand stenciled a few squares  on top.  Not sure if I like it yet or not.  I may change that.

But I feel like my living room is finally coming along.  Bright and cheery.  I can't wait to add more things to the wall, and move a few things around.  We will see how long that will take. ;)

So what do you think?  Are the end tables better painted?

I like to party over here.

Have a fabulous day, friends!

Guest Post {Simply FABulous}

Good Morning everyone!  I am interrupting Pinterest {Make Me} Wednesday to have a special guest post from Evanne over at simply FABulous!  Enjoy!
Hello Christys Cuties readers!  Evanne here from the blog simply FABulous.  I am very excited to be here today with you all to share a little bit about myself along with a fun tutorial.
A little about me:

Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, I am a working girl who can't wait to get home and CRAFT!  I love to sew, craft, design, turn junk into treasure...pretty much anything creative and crafty I will take a stab at it!  I started my blog almost a year ago to share tutorials, personal experiences, and a little about my life.   Recently I have opened an Etsy Shop where I sell Agate Stone Jewelry along with Feather Earrings (check it out here).
Ok...enough about me.  Now onto the fun stuff...TUTORIAL!

I am big into reusing items that you would normally just through away...what a waste if you can use it for something else.  So, I took these three jars (a pickle jar, salad dressing jar, and coffee container) and turned them into a beautiful decorative trio.

from drab....to fab!

Jar #1: WRAP

Start off with a glue gun with 4-5 extra sticks of glue, the pickle jar, and a roll of Twine or Jute:

Starting at the bottom, make a strip about 3-4 inches long of glue and then press the jute straight on top.  The glue dries FAST, so make sure to have enough ready before laying the glue.  I pulled the jute straight from the roll which made it super easy:

Make sure to lay your strands RIGHT next to each other eliminating gaps.  You will get clumps of glue here and there that will show through.  If you simply peel them away at the end it will clean up the overall look:

Clumps --> All Clean
After 4-5 sticks of glue and an hour or so of hard work (I suggest catching up on your recorded shows during this time), you will have your finished product:

Jar #2: PAINT

Paint and a jar are all the materials you need for this project:

Simply squeeze some paint to the bottom of the jar and along the sides:

Put the cap on the jar and twist, turn upside down, spin, etc. It will take awhile but eventually your jar will be covered in blue:

Jar #3: SPRAY

Last project...I promise!  Gather your glue gun, white spray paint, and your final jar/container:

 Put your glue gun to work again just for a moment to write the word LOVE on your last jar:

Take it outside and spray it down with 2-3 coats of white spray paint to get your final project....simple right:

Now you have your beautiful trio of jars that you just saved from the trash!  Group them together and set them on a mantle or shelf for all to enjoy:

Thank you Christy for letting me stop by and share with all of your readers!

 I would love it if you stopped by my blog and visited me!

How great is that??  I LOVE that blue bottle.  I must go through my bottles tomorrow and make some of my own.  Thanks so much for sharing, Evanne.

Have a great day everyone!
