Hi!

A few weeks ago I was sent some products from Craft Project Ideas to try out.  I was too excited, as I'm sure you could tell if you follow me on Instagram (Christy's Cuties), Twitter, or Facebook.

One of the items I was sent were wooden square dowels.  I instantly knew what I wanted to use them for as soon as I seen them.  And I went to work.

My boys have been crazy about marbles for a while now.  They each have a few sets.  But they didn't have a marble maze.  So I made them one.  Here is what I used:

Scrap Wood Pieces
Square dowels
Wood Glue
Spray Paint

I started with my small piece of scrap wood and wanted that to be the "base".  I took the larger scrap wood and measured the ends and marked it so that it was flush against each end, but a little higher up on the top.  I wanted higher up on the top, so that the marbles didn't roll off the sides.

Next I measured the length of both sides and did the same with the top.

I wanted my maze to have a beginning and an end.  So I cut two small holes off of either end for this.

Next I took the wooden dowels.

I cut them into all kinds of lengths.  I just guesstimated with these.

I laid the cut  pieces of dowels onto the base until I had a layout that I liked.  If you can tell, there is a really easy way to get from one side to the other.   But there is also a harder route if you want to be challenged.  :)  I glued those into place using super glue.  Then spray painted all of it black.

Luke Approves.  He had to be first.  And he didn't want to give it up.

Riley was second.  She was waiting all day to get her hands on this.  HA!

And Kaleb was last, and didn't give it up for a few hours.  I believe it was a hit!

From start to finish this took about an hour.  A quick craft, that has kept my kiddos busy for hours now.

Do your kids like marbles and mazes?
