10 {Paleo} Snacks for Football Season!

My husband loves football.  Loves it so much that for the past two years he has also been the "commissioner" of a Fantasy Football League.  Yep.  He even won the league last year.  This means that I have had the pleasure of looking at a horrible fat man trophy setting in our house.  HA.  Anyway, since we have began our healthy eating lifestyle change, I needed some ideas for Football season food.  The way to stay in control of what you eat is to be prepared, right?

Here is a list of foods that I will be making this Football Season!

"Peanut Butter and Jelly" Blondies by Taylor Made it Paleo.

Spinach Artichoke Dip by Paleo Spirit.

Tahini Honey Sweet Potato Fries by Edible Perspective.

Mango Peach Salsa by Dishing with Leslie.

Chile Rellenos by Health-Bent.

Beef Jerky by The Food Lovers Kitchen.

Decadent Fruit Dip by Everyday Paleo.

Chile Lime Chicken Wings by Nom Nom Paleo

Watermelon Frosty by Healthy. Happy. Life.

MMMmmm...this makes me ready for football season now. :)  Do you watch football?  What will you be making?

Glitter Art {Craft Project Ideas}

Have you entered the current giveaway?
It's for an awesome Diamond Candle.

After months of not having a "crafting thought", I have finally made something!  It's small, but it has gotten my mind going again.  Months ago I got some things from Craft Project Ideas, so I decided to create something with them.  And Riley joined in on the fun, too.  Want to see what we created?  Of course you do!

The Craft Project Ideas line can be found at your local Wal-Mart!

I started out drawing an R for Riley's room, then went from there and made some flowers.  I used pencil, and in the end you can see a little of the lines from that, so I suggest drawing what you want, then erasing it lightly so that you will be less likely to see the lines.  But for me, I didn't mind.  Too much.

I spread the glue out with a thin brush, then just dumped the color glitter on the space where I wanted it.  I would let one color dry, before moving on to the other color.  I did this to keep from mixing the colors.  In some spots I let the glue dry, and then re-applied the glitter to make it thicker.

Here is Riley working on her Hello Kitty page.

Let it all dry, and you have some glitter art!  Riley loved this, so I'm sure we will use this idea again, but maybe change a few things up next time. :)

Diamond Candle {Giveaway}

Happy Monday!

I have another awesome giveaway for you all today!  I love for my house to smell good.  I keep some kind of candle or plug ins going at all times.  I was recently contacted by Diamond Candles, and was SO excited to try out their product!  Diamond Candles is an Earth friendly candle.  Each candle is made out of soy bean wax, and their wicks are made of cotton also coated in soy wax.  Everything that is used for these candles are made in the US.

The smell is amazing!  I ordered the cupcake smell, and it smells so good.  It gives me the smell of cupcakes, without all of the calories.  ;)  I only have one candle, and it makes my whole house smell amazing.  The candle is so great that I can still smell it the next morning, even after it was not burning all night.  Amazing!

In addition to the great products that are used, and the amazing smell, there is also a rind that comes inside each candle.  How fun!  Each candle has a ring that is wrapped in protective foil so the wax will not harm it.  Another exciting thing about Diamond Candles is that each ring could be worth anywhere from $10-$5,000!  Whoo!  Once you burn the candle low enough to get the ring, you just pop the foil packet out and open it.

Here are a few pictures of my ring.  It is so pretty.  It's a nice, heavy, silver.  It has a beautiful stone, with smaller "diamonds" on one side.  And it fits me perfectly!

It looks like a ring that would come from JC Penny or Sears.  One of their nice "costume" jewelry pieces.  I would expect to pay no less than $30 for this ring at one of those stores.  I say that's an amazing deal.  You can't beat an amazing smelling candle, and a nice ring as a surprise!

So what do you say?  Would you like a chance to win one of these amazing candles??  Enter below!

Honey Almond Butter {Paleo}

Hi!

Have you entered my current giveaway?  It ends August 19th, 2013!

I have been eating a ton of almond butter lately.  It's delicious!  I eat it with my apples, celery, and I even used it in my Chocolate Almond Butter Cups.  It's also pretty expensive.  So I decided to start making my own!  I buy a one pound bag of almonds at Sam's for the same price that I pay for a 12 oz. jar of Almond Butter at the store.  So it's definitely cost effective!

Ingredients:
2 cups dry roasted almonds
2 tbs honey

I like mine to be a tad sweet, so I add in a little local Tennessee honey!  This also helps with my husbands allergies.

Start with your almonds in a food processor.

Blend until they get a good paste.  The longer you blend, the more smooth it will become.  It will stick to the sides, so you will have to stop and smooth it back down to continue processing.

Once you get it to the right consistency that you like, add in your honey if you would like.  You do not have to add in the honey.  That is totally up to preference. :)

When you are done, enjoy your creation!

Trades of Hope {Giveaway}

I have an awesome company to tell you about!  And a great giveaway as well!

The following is taken from the Trades of Hope Website

"We work with the artisans themselves and organizations that are helping women in difficult circumstances. Some women have been rescued from sex slavery. Others are raising handicapped children alone. Some are in war torn countries and others have AIDS. These women have never had the chances we've had, yet they are just like us in so many ways. They love their families and hope and dream of a better life for them. "

How amazing is that?

Guest (Kids) Bath Re-do

A few months ago we thought it would be our time to move.  My husband has been stationed at this one post his whole career, which has now been 13 years.  That is practically unheard of for the Army.  We are so blessed to not have to have worried about moving our kids around often, but also because we are still so close to our families.  So when we figured it was our time to move, I went through and made a list of things that would need to be done to make our house more "sell worthy".

Thankfully we didn't have to move!  But, I have still been going though with my list!  I started with the easiest/smallest room.  The guest/kids bathroom.  It is a very, very small room.  Straight and narrow.  My youngest starts kindergarten this year, and is a girl.  So I figured it was time to update the bathroom to look older.  And to make my guests feel a little more comfortable.  HA.

They didn't have a place to hang their towels and we desperately needed one.  The green shelving on the side was where they would place their toothbrushes.  And that was all the storage I could fit, besides the small closet that housed the laundry basket and towels.

I wanted to do a "quick" makeover since we were down to the wire with possibly moving.  So I looked for things that would work with the green paint that was already in there.

I found a fabulous grey shower curtain from Kohls, and a cute mustard chevron rug.  And that's where I began!  The shower curtain is from the Loft line, but I can't find it online now.

I then went to TJ Maxx and found this awesome three basket metal basket that I put over the toilet, and the canvas abstract picture.  All that was left that I needed was the holder for their towels.  I found that at a local shop called Miss Lucille's Marketplace.  Total spent on this bathroom was about $75!  Can't beat that for a quick re-do.

Now, my question is....am I crazy for leaving the green as the wall color?  Should I go ahead and paint it a different color?  What do you think?

I like to party at these places.
