Fall Beauty

I have been super lazy busy lately so I have not had the chance to craft anything new.  So, why have I been so busy?  Pinterest of course!  Can't you just sit on there for hours and waste time??  Gesh!  Here are some of my favorite fall items I have found lately.  Hopefully I will stop being so lazy busy soon so that I can acctually make some of this instead of just pinning in! HA!!

I am not much for Halloween....but Fall, Fall I Love!!

How stinkin adorable is this for yard art?  I normall go toward the regular hay bales...but this year, I'm so doing this!

And what about these painted pumpkins? Perfect for me for fall decor, since I'm not much for halloween!

Use scraps up and make a pillow?? Yes, please!

I love how simple this next project it. And I can hang it on my old windows that are already hanging in the living room.

Last but certainly not least, how adorable is this shirt? I must make one for Riley...like...next week.

Scarf

I am too excited for fall to be here soon! I LOVE layering clothes, and being cold. L.O.V.E. A few weeks ago I seen a cute tute for a scarf. I really did think I saved the link, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. :(

Since I could not find the link I decided to show you the step by step on how to make your own. If this was YOUR tutorial, please, please, please let me know so I can give you the proper credit you deserve. K?

I also took a lot of pictures to show you the step by step, so I decided to write the directions on the pictures themselves. K? Here ya go!

That's it!  It took about 20 minutes.  I LOVE fast and cute projects! ;)

Once again, if this is yours.....PLEASE let me know so I can give you the proper credit!  You can either leave a comment on this post, or email me at denotechristy at yahoo dot com

I like to party here!

Hoo are you?

Yep, it's that time again!  Here are the questions....
1. What is your Zodiac sign?
I think I am a Leo on most...but with my birthday it really depends which horoscope I read.....and I don't read them like....ever.  So.....yea, not the question for me.  lol

2. Name 3 things that are always in your purse besides your wallet.
Lotion, Cash envelops....even though I have not used them in years!  I may one day, right? ;)

3. Which magazines do you look at the most?
Real Simple, All You, Home & Garden

4. Do you pluck or get your eyebrows waxed?
Funny story...well not so much.  10 years ago or so I had my brows waxed...and the lady did NOT do good.  Well, just my luck, they never grew back! :(  Yep, I have permanently jacked up brows.  I will have a hair or two here or there, but I have went MONTHS without even plucking the strays to see if I could grow them back in and NO LUCK!  So, if you ever see me in person please don't think I'm crazy for my awful brows!  HA!

5. How often do you go grocery shopping?
I shop every two weeks, with small trips thrown in for stuff we run out of.  I have been trying to plan for a weekly trip, so I can stop the small trips....but no matter what I do, I always buy and spend for two weeks.

Rock Climbing

I recently found out about this really cool rock climbing/trail like 5 minutes from where we live.  And, it looks over the Cumberland River.  I am trying to be better about taking the kids out of the house to do things and get some fun exercise.  So, we tried it.  It was very steep.  And I did freak out quite a bit about the kids possibly slipping off and rolling down into the river.....yea, I'm a scardy cat like that.  They loved it, though.  We can't wait to go back many more times.

Have a fabulous day!

Silky Cuteness

My little girl is finally letting me put things in her hair!  This is huge because for the first 3 and 1/2 years, she would just rip them right out!  This is also huge because she is my first girl (after two boys) and I wanted a girly girl.  Although, I may be starting to regret that "want" as her attitude gets so much bigger. HA!

Since she is such a girly girl, I decided she needed some pretty, girly hair cuteness!  This is what I came up with....
 I adore that smile!
 I gathered some silk ribbon and hot glued it onto a piece of felt.  Layered that two times then added a yo yo and some pearls in the middle.  I haven't shared this yet, but her nick-name is Pearl! ;0)  Given to her from my family on  my mom's side.  {Hi Chasity, and Mandi!}

She loves it, and so do I!

Savings Saturday

I believe I have finally gotten back into couponing regularly again. Here is what I was able to get last week.
5 boxes of Chex Cereal - 1.00 each
1 box of Cinn Toast Crunch - 1.00 each
10 bottles of dressing - 1.00 each
6 Colgate Toothpastes - .50 each
1 Oreo - FREE
1 Shredded Cheese - FREE
9 ears of corn - FREE
To get the FREE items I had coupons!  The oreos and cheese were Kroger home mailer coupons.  The corn was $1 FREE produce when I bought 2 bottles of Kraft dressing, and I had three of those.

Total spent was $20 and some change after taxes.
Total saved was $56. and some change.

I would call that a Savings!

(Please do not think I am a horder!  lol  We are a family of five and the cereal will last us two weeks....if I am lucky!  The dressing will last us a month or so.  And the corn is already cooked and gone!  HA!)

Pumpkins and all things nice

It still amazes me at how soon crafters start to work on the next seasons "decor". I didn't realize that people started working on things months before it was actually time to have them out. Good for them for not being procrastinators like me. HA!

I have finally gotten around to making a few things for my one shelf in my living room that I have. First I made some of the adorable paper pumpkins that I seen over at Craftaholics Anonymous. Here are hers...
She did a fabulous tutorial, of course.  You will see mine in the final picture.  I also made my own spin on a pumpkin.  This is the first year that I have done anything for decorations for Halloween.  So I'm pretty proud of myself. Ha!  I used burlap, orange floss, short sticks, hot glue.
First I cut my burlap to the size I wanted and added some "eyes and a mouth" with the floss.  I had to go through all of the lines a few times to actually be able to see it.
I added some "stuffing" and hot glued the top together.
Glued the stick on top and here is the final outcome. (sorry the picture is so dark.....I need more lighting in the living room)

Here is my one shelf all done.  Notice the pumpkins to the right of paper that I made using Craftaholics Anonymous tute.  The BOO sign on the right I made as well.  I just took a scrap piece of wood and painted it orange.  I used stencils and glittered BOO on black scrapbook paper.  For my first year, I am pretty happy.  I'm sure I will add to it, though.  I haven't gotten the chance to unpack my fall items yet.  Fall I love...Halloween.....not so much. ;)
What do you think?  The pumpkin was pretty easy.  I hope you like it!

Riley the Artist

A few weeks ago I did a little "art project" with Riley for her room redo.  She loved it...and so did I!  To have these pieces of artwork on her wall that she did was amazing!  Don't you just love "homemade" artwork?  I do!

Well, I may be changing my thoughts about this little homemade art work. Ya see, lately I have been finding Riley's artwork all over the house!  No kidding.  Don't believe me??  Let me show you!

Oh and that is not all.  She is smart enough to do ALL OF THIS in her brother's room, not hers!  Isn't she smart!

Last but not least......

Did you know that Lysol Bathroom Cleaner will get off more than just bathroom scum??  Yep, with the spray and a little elbow grease it came clean.  Woot Woot!

Now, any ideas on how I keep Riley's artwork on ONLY paper and canvas?  HA!

Dressing up the Camera

I have a "small" fancy camera. And I really do have a love/hate relationship with it. It is by far the best camera that I have ever had, but it is also very finicky and I just want a new "blogger" camera! In an effort to remain happy with the one I have {and not make my husband flip} by dropping big bucks on a new one I decided I needed to make it pretty! So I did!

I found a great fat quarter, and some light weight cotton material at the fabric store and immediately knew what I was going to use them on.

Cute fabric and ruffles...yes please!

I can't wait to use my camera outside of my yard or house, to show it off. ;)

Have a great day, friends.

Hoo are you?

It's that time again, time for another Hoo are you? :) I'm not really sure why, but I totally love learning things about other people. I think it opens your mind up to so much more than just what you feel, think, or believe maybe? Or it could be my "reality junkie" in me. HA! Anywho, here we go!

1. What are your favorite 3 things about fall?
Cool air, soup, scarves, hot chocolate, sweaters, cloudy skies, need I go on.....

2. Are you a football fan and if so who is your favorite team?
I am not really a football fan, but my son just started playing so my favorite team is the Clarksville Chiefs! GOOOO KALEB #50!
(I am seriously in L.O.V.E. with him in that gear!!!)

3. What is your favorite fall scent?
We have a local store here that makes tarts.  They have one called Amish Harvest and OMGOSH it is Ah-Ma-Zing! (yes, I do realize that is a misspelling. ;))

4. So you have seasonal allergies?
No, thank God!  The husband does and I think the boys doo, too. :(

5. Have you started Christmas shopping yet?
Oh YES!  My Mother In Law is done.  I have a few things for extended family, the kids are started, and my family has decided to do only homemade gifts so my mom and sister are almost done. And it feels SO good!  Good for homemade gifts, and for being started so soon.
