Pinterest Make Me: Paleo Spaghetti

My husband has decided that he wants to eat the Paleo way.  Have you heard of it?  I am new to all of this, so it is a lot of learning on my part.  I am having to completely change the way I buy groceries and cook.  And I am so sad to say that I haven't been able to use ANY coupons since starting this. Boo!

One of the first things I made was Paleo Spaghetti.  I used the recipe found here.  Mine does not look near as pretty as theirs, but here is a picture for you.

It was OK, but I'm not so sure I can let go of my pasta. ;)  So, do you follow Paleo?  If so, do you have any tips or posts about it that could help me out?

If you would like to try some Paleo meals, I have a whole Pinterest Board dedicated to it.  :)

Have a great day!

Homemade Body Wash

This past weekend I got to spend some time with my mom.  She wanted to make some body wash, so I decided to help and take directions to share with you all. :)
Here is what you will need:
1/2 gallon of water
2 tbs glycerin
2 cups soap of choice
a few drops of fragrance (we decided not to use this)

Start by grating up 2 cups of soap.

Pour 1/2 a gallon of water in a pot, and add the soap to dissolve.

Once soap is mixed in, add 2 tbs of glycerin.

Let cool, then pour into your bottles.

This made a lot of body wash.  The only complaint we have is that it is basically water.  You will deffinately need a loopha when using this.  And it may be too watery than what you like.  I personally like something that is of a thicker consistency, and that will lather.  We decided not to use the fragrance since the soap that was used was such a strong smell already.  I would love to know if you have a different recipe, that makes it more thick.

I like to party here!

Have a great day!

Birchbox {Saving's Saturday}

Good Morning!

Birchbox!  Have you ever heard of Birchbox?  Well, until recently I had not.  And I am SO GLAD that I have now heard of it, so I wanted to share it with you.  Here is how it works.  You sign up for Birchbox and fill out a Beauty "questioner".  The answers on this questioner will let Birchbox know what kinds of beauty products you may or may not be interested in.  They will then hand pick 4-5 deluxe size, high end beauty samples for you and mail them once a month is a special little box.

Would you like to see what I received this month?

The contents are:
Eyeliner Stick On's
Microderm cleanser (LOVE IT!)
Face wash
Free Music Downloads
Mouthwash and Rinse

I love it because:
1.  They send high end, high quality products.
2. I HATE paying money for a full size product that will get thrown under my sink because I don't like it, and I can't return it.  So this is a great way to try those products.
3.  They have sent some things that I probably wouldn't have normally tried, but I wind up loving it.
4.  I get a special package in the mail once and month!  (Honestly, who DOESN'T love special mail??)
5.  It only cost $10 a month.  That's a great price for the items that are sent. (In my opinion)

So, if I have peaked your interest hop on over to Birchbox and check it out for yourselves. :)

*I have not been paid by Birchbox to write a post about this.  I truly am just a satisfied customer, that wants to spread the word. :)

I hope you are having a great day!

Where have I been?

Whoa.  I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since I have posted.  I'm so sorry.  I guess I was wrong about fully recuperating from my surgery and jumping back in.  Then life happened.  You all know how that is, right?  Blah.

Luckily, I have been able to fit a little fun in all of the life stuff.  So, here's a little peak into what I've been up to.

The husband has completed his first Tough Mudder.  He's in the orange shirt, at the back.

Of course he had to do the Tebow. ;)  Those other guys up there are our friends that did this as well.

He went through the course like it was nothing.

I mean, who would willingly electrocute themselves in the name of FUN??  I think he's crazy!

And we even got to celebrate our 10 year anniversary!  It may be the longest ten years of my life this far....but, it's been the BEST!

Now that you all are caught up....get ready for some real posts starting tomorrow!

I hope you all have been doing well.

My First Quilt

I have made my first quilt.  I can't wait to show you.  Here it is.

One of my friends had a sweet baby girl, so I knew it was the perfect reason to make one.

I just used the backing of the quilt as the "edge" as well.  It was so much easier than trying to get my bias tape to look good.

I am in love with quilt making now.  I can't wait to do some more for the SHOP!  Yep!  My shop is getting a make over very soon.  I can't wait!

Pick Your Plum

Have you ever been by Cherished Bliss Blog?  If not, you should.  They are fabulous.  A few months ago I signed up through them to receive an item from Pick Your PlumPick Your Plum is a daily deals site that carries super cute, very inexpensive items that change every day.  Well, Pick Your Plum and Cherished Bliss have teamed up together to see what kinds of things we can come up with while using items from Pick Your Plum.  Cool, right?  I had heard of them prior to this, but had never ordered anything.  I was pleasantly surprised at what I received.  Want to see?

I received three, small watch bands.  They are leather, and of great quality.  I have been seeing wrap bracelets a lot lately, and have been wanting one.  Well, when I got these in, I knew what I wanted to do with them.

I just put them all together, and wrapped them around my arm.  I love how they "stack" with the buckles if I want to see that side.  If I don't want to see the buckles, then I just move those to the back of my wrist and I see the bands.

What do you think?  What would you do with them if you had them?  I would love some more ideas!

Do you have items from Pick Your Plum that you want to show off?  Anyone can join in the fun linky party going on now at Cherished Bliss.
